Commercial Roof Sarking

Roof sarking is a protective second skin under your roof, installed when building a house, doing home extensions, a home renovation or roof restoration.

Roof sarking is a pliable laminated membrane that is positioned under your roof during installation by the builder and is rolled out in sections either parallel or perpendicular to the eaves with an overlap between each layer.

Roof sarking will protect the frame of your house from the weather during construction. When your home is completed, sarking will protect your roof cavity from storm driven rain and dust, improve its thermal performance, help it resist bushfire ember attack and reduce the risk of harmful condensation.

Enviroseal™ Wrap

Vapour Permeable Weather Barrier

Bradford Enviroseal ProctorWrap

Enviroseal roof sarking is a vapour permeable product that allows water vapour to pass through it, whilst preventing the entry of liquid water and dust from outside. When used in colder climates where there is more moisture inside the home than outside, it allows moisture in the air to pass through the membrane before condensing to water (condensation) safely on the outside of the building frame where it does not damage the home.

This product is recommended for use in colder climates where the risk of condensation formation increases as the temperature of the outside environment falls, while the inside of the home is heated.

Enviroseal also improves the air tightness of your roof cavity and reduces draughts, which helps insulation to work better and limits dust entering the home through gaps around down lights and vents.

This helps to improve energy efficiency as well as creating a healthier and more comfortable home.

Key product features:

  • Reduces the risk of condensation formation inside the building frame in cold climates*
  • Improves energy efficiency by reducing draughts allowing insulation to work more effectively
  • Protects the building frame from decay by reducing the entry of wind driven rain and dust.

Everyday activities around the home like cooking, washing, even breathing, can create moisture. If not managed effectively, this can lead to condensation forming within the building structure which can lead to mould growth and structural damage.

Enviroseal sarking helps control condensation in your roof space by allowing moisture to pass through it as vapour and condense on the underside of colder roof material. When this water drips back onto the sarking, it is prevented from entering the roof space by the watertight surface and safely drains away to the gutter.

*If the membrane is to provide a continuous air tight layer, all joins, penetrations and discontinuities should be sealed
