When do I ask my builder?
When do I ask my builder?
As SoundScreen can only be effectively installed during construction, the timing for an upgrade decision is critical.
Most new home builders have tight specifications for their new homes which may not include any acoustic insulation. Many builders will be happy to include SoundScreen when it is not too late for them to amend their standard construction plans.
There are typically 5 stages to be aware of when you are planning your home with your builder. You should ask your builder to include SoundScreen no later than the Tender stage.
1SaleThis is when you reach agreement on a home plan with your builder based on an indicative estimate.
You should inform your builder at this stage that you want to make sure your new home can be upgraded with Bradford SoundScreen acoustic insulation.
2TenderThis is when you agree on a fixed price tender that details the major inclusions and itemised costs for building your new home with standard inclusions.
It is at the tender stage that you should ensure you have Bradford SoundScreen acoustic insulation included.
3Plans & ExternalsThis is generally where your contract is presented and where all exterior features are finalised. If not already agreed, Bradford SoundScreen acoustic insulation should be discussed and included at this point.
4Internal SelectionTogether with a selection consultant you choose the fixtures and fittings inside your home. Although unlikely, you may be able to add Bradford SoundScreen acoustic insulation at this stage.
5Electrical SelectionFinal selections of electrical fittings. By ensuring you have considered your total home comfort before the Plan & Externals stage you can relax in the knowledge you have made the best choices for your family.
